Your brain, like your body, needs to exercise to keep in shape.  In my experience, I usually do exercise three times a week. I do the same for my brain.

I read at least one book every two weeks. That is not a lot, I know, but I mantain my brain in shape this way.

You see, neurons like muscles need to”move” in order to function properly. When you do exercise, muscles contract and crack to increase in volume. They do this by adding protein into these cracks to build the muscle mass.

As a result, one looks leaner, stronger and younger.

When you read, you stimulate your neurons to generate electrical pulses to flow with the information that you are reading. These pulses also get stored into your memory neurons for you to retreive them later.

So, instead of building mass as your muscles, neurons build memories to stay in shape.
